Auto Theft is the knowing taking, use, or attempt to take or use the vehicle of another with intent to either permanently or temporarily deprive the owner of a right to use the vehicle or a benefit from it, or to appropriate the vehicle to his or her own use or to the use of any person not entitled to the use of the vehicle.
