Child Procurement

Child Procurement is the criminal act of providing one’s child or a child in one’s possession as a prostitute for another person, or paying a child to prostitute his or herself. This criminal act occurs in Miami and Fort Lauderdale where children are kidnapped or nabbed. It also occurs in many families with children. To prove the criminal violation of Child Procurement, the State Attorney must prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the criminal suspect knowingly caused, encouraged, or contributed to the child victim to become engaged in a sexual act for payment, either by the criminal suspect’s act, threat, command, or persuasion. “Child” means any person under the age of 18. Child Procurement is one of the many criminal acts under the category of Sex Trafficking, which is also popular in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. If you are caught participating in Child Procurement or other Sex Trafficking, whether you are a participant, purchaser, or seller, you will need the expert representation of a Miami or Fort Lauderdale criminal lawyer as a part of your criminal defense.
