Help from a Fort Lauderdale Domestic Violence Arrest Attorney
Earlier this month, a principal at a Catholic high school in the Broward County area of Southwest Ranches, Florida was arrested for allegedly committing domestic violence. The Fort Lauderdale domestic violence arrest occurred on Tuesday, November 5, 2019. The incident took place in a Miramar home, and the man who was arrested works at the Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School in Southwest Ranches.
According to the police in Miramar, a man who claimed to be the victim of the domestic violence stated that he had been assaulted by the principal. He claimed the man grabbed him roughly and threw him to the ground. Afterward, the victim got back up and ran out of the home filled with fear.
The police officer who took the incident report noted that the victim had blood in his ear and some bruises along his neck.
After the arrest was made on November 5, news reporters appeared at the Archbishop Edward A. McCarthy High School and interviewed both students and parents. Everyone who spoke to the reporters expressed shock over the incident and described the principal as being very soft spoken and a nice man.
Since the arrest, the principal was placed on administrative leave by the Archdiocese of Miami. What happens to him next depends on the outcome of the investigation being performed into the incident by the Miramar Police Department. The man was slated to face a judge shortly after the arrest.
The man was also involved in another altercation in 2018 after a student was expelled. It occurred on the road while both were driving as the student tried to cut the principal off and then tailed him in a parking lot. Once both were out of their cars, the former student punched the man, which prompted him to fight back.
